We travelled through Cambodia into Vietnam with G Adventures and right into Ho Chi Minh city, formerly Saigon.

There are quite a few things that rock about Vietnam. The food, for starters, is amongst the best in the world. A boat ride along the Mekong Delta is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced on water. The character of Vietnamese is friendly and warming from a tourists point of view.

I also loved the weather and found the Vietnamese very hospitable and enterprising- there’s lots to do from bike rentals, scooter rentals, motorbike taxis, river boat rides, and shopping.

One of the simplest yet entertaining things you can do in Vietnam is to just immerse yourself in a market or public place and people watch- even though the population and traffic can be a little chaotic.
